Beginning April 2, our team hosted an 11-day Life Action Summit. If you are unfamiliar with the ministry of Life Action, this description is taken directly from their website:
Inspiring a Generation to Say YES to God We aim to invite multitudes of people to say YES to God, jump-starting a fresh movement among believers toward mission, justice, and revival, while inviting many others to authentically engage with Jesus for the first time. This surrendered and enthusiastic YES changes everything about a person’s soul, family, work, dreams, and community. It begins with a small step of humility, listening and learning from Jesus, repenting and renewing (or beginning) a walk with God. It’s a simple awakening to what really matters, leading to revived life. At Life Action, we’re praying fervently toward the day when this “yes” attitude is the rule rather than the exception; when millions of people, astonished and excited by the work of God in their lives, are living on bold mission for Christ. Only then will we see the shattering of divisions, injustice, and lostness around us, and only then can we forge into a new future for the church defined by the Great Commandment and the Great Commission. It can begin in the smallest places—in honest, intimate moments with Jesus; in surrendered wills and in daily decisions. It can begin with your next yes to God. We dream of millions of God-astonished lives, in action with Him, shattering divisions, injustice, and lostness. This is Amber's testimony from the Life Action Summit: For months, I have been convicted about my lukewarm walk with the Lord. When I read Mark 12:30 that says, Love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your mind, and with all your strength, I knew that I truly did not love Him that much. The Lord began working on my heart even before the summit began in the area of where my mind dwelt. During the summit, the Lord revealed areas of pride in my life that were factors in why my mind was not honoring the Lord. The Lord also revealed my need to live in total dependency on Him. The Lord rekindled the fire in me for Him. My time in the word is refreshed. My dependence upon Him is deepened. My awareness of Him throughout the day has increased. My worship of Him on fire. Twenty four years ago, the Lord took me from death to life in Him. Last week He took me from ashes to revived. Praise Him! Amber's testimony is just one of many testimonies of the Lord's working in the people of Salmon Valley Baptist Church last week. There were testimonies of other lives revived. People came publicly confessing sins. People joined together to pray. People were baptized. Forgiveness was sought and forgiveness was extended. People were called to serve the Lord in many capacities. People were saved. People obeyed what the Lord told them to do and have laid their 'yes' on the table to do whatever God says. Salmon Valley Baptist is no longer the same church.
