Faith and Nathan went on a youth mission trip to Savannah August 3-10. This is Faith's story in her own words:
Eleven people went on Salmon Valley’s youth mission trip. There were six kids and five adults. We went to work with an organization called Bags of Faith. We Left the church at ten o’clock Wednesday August 3rd and drove to the Idaho Falls airport. Our plane left at 3:30pm and flew to Salt Lake City. From there we flew to Atlanta, where we spent the night. The next morning, we drove to Statesboro, GA. That afternoon we worked at the Bags of Faith warehouse. On Friday we spent the morning work at the Statesboro Food Bank. In the Afternoon we worked with another organization called Hope Chest. Saturday, we drove to Savanah and gave food and supplies to the homeless people there. On Sunday we went to church at Grace Community Church. That afternoon we had fun sliding down a water slide. Monday morning, we split up into two groups. The boys went back to Savanah, while the girls worked with the Hope Chest again. The people working at the Hope Chest got to go into the Walmart Distribution center, because Hope Chest takes damaged shipments from Walmart and gives them to people who need them. Tuesday, we spent the day at the beach. On Wednesday August 10th we woke up at 4:00am to get to the Atlanta airport. We then flew back to Salt Lake City Where we had a three-hour layover. We flew from Salt Lake City to Idaho Falls. We arrived at the church at 9:00pm. Our nightly Bible Studies were about evangelism 101. One thing that really stuck out to me was how the gospel doesn’t change but the way we share it does.
